Phase II of the AML/CFT Act extends the regime (in stages over two years) to include lawyers and conveyancers, accountants, real estate agents and high-value dealers. Lawyers and conveyancers are the first to be covered by the new provisions, and must be compliant with their AML/CFT Act obligations by 1 July 2018. The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) will be the supervisor.
