The Criminal Procedure Act 2011 (“CPA”) commences in two parts. The majority of the Act will be brought into force in 2013.
There is though, a small but important group of provisions that come into force on 5 March 2012 including suppression of evidence and identity and sentencing indications. It is this first stage of the CPA’s commencement that is the subject of this booklet.
