Introduction

The purpose of this book is to provide practical guidance to practitioners involved in judicial review cases before the New Zealand courts. Many excellent academic texts have been written on public law and judicial review in New Zealand. Suffice to say, this is not intended to be one of those works.
With this book, we are looking at judicial review from a practitioner’s perspective; a practical discussion of what judicial review is, how we think it is changing at the moment and how to “do it”, if you find yourself needing to bring (or defend) a judicial review on behalf of a client.
