Warwick Deuchrass Retired Lawyer, Queenstown Warwick retired in 2017 after 43 years of practice as a partner in Anderson Lloyd (through merger). His areas of practice included corporate/commercial and asset & succession planning. Warwick was on the board of The New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa (the Law Society), its Treasurer and its South Island Vice President, chair of the New Zealand Law Foundation, and a member of the Council of Law Reporting. Since retirement he has taken other roles including director of the NZLS CLE Stepping Up Programme (for six years), assisting lawyers and firms with strategic planning, and chairing law firm retreats. Warwick remains on several company and not-for-profit boards. |

Kane Smith Law Society Inspectorate, Christchurch Kane is a Senior Inspector. He has a Bachelor of Management Studies majoring in finance and economics and a Graduate Diploma in accounting. Kane spent several years as a young entrepreneur and worked at Inland Revenue in the fraud and evasion team. He started as an Inspector for the Law Society in 2016 and looks after the South Island regions. |

Sue Styants Retired Lawyer, Auckland Sue practised for 41 years until her retirement on 31 March 2024. She was briefly a barrister, followed by 13 years in partnership in a two-partner firm, then from 2000 was a sole practitioner. Sue’s other involvement included seven years on the Auckland District Law Society Council; one year as Vice President of the Law Society, two years as a Law Society Board member, six years on the Law Society Auckland Branch Council, 18 years as a member of the Management Committee of the Solicitors’ Fidelity Guarantee Fund and nine years on the Law Society National Standards Committee. |
