Whether acting for tenants or landlords, it is always the priority of the commercial leasing lawyer to help negotiate the best terms and conditions. The primary aim is of ensuring your clients are better able to achieve their objectives.This module will look at the pre-lease negotiations and why you would need an agreement to lease, including which clauses are critical when advising tenants and which are critical for landlords.

Also discussed will be matters arising in the course of the landlord/tenant relationship. This includes advising on options available for a tenant looking to exit the lease with a comparison of assignment and sublease.

The numerous possibilities that the deed of variation of lease offers both tenants and landlords including variation of term, area and rent will also be discussed.
