The presenters will take you through an overview of the main areas of employment law that arise in day to day practice and reference practical examples and cases, to provide you with a sound understanding of the principles of typical employment practice.

Introduction

In this paper, we provide an overview of core entitlements for employees, including commonly arising issues with Minimum Wage Act 1983, and the Holidays Act 2003.

We briefly cover the difference between collective and individual employment agreements and their respective legal requirements.

We also discuss when a personal grievance can be raised, the process for raising and responding to personal grievances, (including triangular employment), the test of justification, requests for information, and the Privacy Act 2020.
